Lauren’s final apprenticeship update

And just like that, I have wrapped up my apprenticeship! It's been a packed 14 months of learning, growing and jumping right into digital marketing since I joined the team last year. From starting with the basics to getting hands on with new tools and implementing my learning into everyday work and real projects, it's been a really great experience. I am so grateful for the team at Purple as well as those at Apprentify supporting me!

The journey

When I started this apprenticeship, I didn't really know what to expect but I knew that it was going to be a challenge. This course took me through everything from the fundamentals of Digital Marketing to working with key tools and platforms that are essential in the industry today.

The online training and virtual classrooms were a big part of the process. They gave me the chance to chat to talk to experts, bounce ideas off other learners and get stuck into a wide range of assignments throughout the year.

The team at Purple have been the driving force for support throughout this entire process for me. They are always happy to help with anything that I might need be it monitoring my inbox while I'm in exams or giving me pointers for revision. I truly think that I wouldn't have achieved the result that I did if I was anywhere else so, for that a big thank you to the Purple Team! 💜

The final hurdle: End Point Assessment (EPA)

Now that I had completed all of the learning, attended all my virtual classrooms and passed my knowledge exams including the fundamentals of Digital Marketing, Principles of Coding and a Google Analytics 4 exam it was time to take the next step. As I got closer to the end of the apprenticeship, it was time to tackle my EPA. This is where all of that hard work and knowledge that I had been gathering over the last 13 months would be put to use.

The next step was my summative portfolio which showcased all the work that I had done throughout my apprenticeship. This included campaign planning, reports and everything in between to show how I had applied what I’d learned in real life situations.

Once I polished and submitted my portfolio it was time for my synoptic project. This consisted of a 4-day assessment where I was given a brief on day one and by day 4 I had a completed project which demonstrated all of the skills that I had been learning for the last 14 months.

The final component (and probably the most nerve-racking) was my 2 hour one-to-one professional interview. Here I reflected on my journey, shared what I had learned and explained how I applied my skills in real projects at Purple. It did feel like the perfect way to wrap up the entire experience and my invigilator was lovely and put me at ease immediately.

The results!

My result took me by surprise as it came a lot sooner than I expected but (drum roll please 🥁) I got the Distinction I hoped for, and I am absolutely delighted!

I have been really lucky to have achieved the result that I wanted as well as having the support system that has helped me through this entire process! I am really excited to see what the future holds and looking forward to continuing to grow with Purple 💜
