This week we are thrilled to announce the launch of a new eCommerce website for RPM Discs, a record shop based in the heart of Wingate, County Durham. 

RPM Discs offers a huge range of both preloved and new vinyl records across an eclectic range of genres, so whatever your music taste we are sure you will find something you will love to listen to, especially as there are nearly 18,000 products on the new website! 

Key Features of the new Website

Easy to Edit

With the volume of products on the website for sale it was essential that the team at RPM Discs could easily edit and maintain the website adding new products and categories themselves easily. Before the site was launched we did training for the team and then have been on hand to support since the launch of the site.  Some of the key features of the shop system include:

• Ability to duplicate products meaning it is super speedy to add new products in
• Ability to easily create Discount and Voucher Codes to entice shoppers to spend
• Ability to add pricing variants based on Vinyl Size
• Details on Vinyl Grade and Sleeve condition so the shopper understands the condition of the product
• Including important Vinyl location information in order confirmation emails so that stock can easily be found. (Important with 18,000 products!)

Domains and Emails

As the current website host was retiring we needed to move the domains over to ourselves to caretake on behalf of RPM Discs, we also moved their emails over to a Microsoft Email package allowing them to access their emails on the go and have them synced to multiple devices. 

Email Newsletters and Newsletter Template

Email newsletters are a cost-effective way of marketing a business and boosting e-commerce sales.  They offer measurable results and are an easy way to stay in touch with customers and drive traffic to the website.  We integrated Mailchimp into the Shopping Cart and also designed a newsletter template in Mailchimp to look like the website using RPM Discs' distinctive branding. 

Design

The design on this website was built using one of our in-house templates that we offer customers when they don’t want to go down the bespoke design option. It is fully responsive for Mobile and Tablet Devices and still offers a huge amount of design flexibility. You can see on the site lots of little features such as spinning vinyls and moving music notes in the background that personalise the site to its audience.
