Phew, April has been a busy month! I’ve really been feeling the benefit of the warmer weather and sunny days at the moment and our lunchtime walks have been so lovely which makes a change from having to brave them in snowstorms. With bank holidays galore and various other holidays and classrooms, this month has flown by in the blink of an eye. I’ve also had the opportunity to begin work for some new clients again so this has meant my schedule has been pretty full! 😅
What I’ve been up to
As mentioned I’ve taken on a couple of new clients and welcomed back some previous ones this month, so I have been hard at work creating new digital content and campaigns for them. I have also helped clients rework their social media this month by tying posts in with topical content and using new, interesting graphics.
I have worked with lots of members of the team this month too as I have relayed website queries and updates for my own clients. This has meant I have gained a better understanding of the workflow of the team and now know who to turn to if I require something web-related resolving for my own clients.
Written copy for websites has increased substantially this month too as I worked on web page content for everything, from catering to housing! I also pushed my journalistic skills further again and was able to get a press release for a client into the Yorkshire Post!
Finally, we were able to round off a hectic couple of weeks with a fantastic evening out in Newcastle. I must say my crazy golf skills leave much to be desired but it was great to let my hair down with the rest of the Purple team! We had a delicious meal at Las Iguanas and some great cocktails too. 😋 It’s great to be part of such a fun team and have amazing managing directors who let us have such wonderful team nights out.
Apprentify
It's also inching closer and closer each week to my mock EPA and preparations to pass through gateway for my apprenticeship. I’ve been attending some seminars to cover a few remaining KSB’s as well as starting work on my portfolio and having plenty of sessions with my coach to discuss this and gained some really positive feedback.
Despite my apprenticeship flying by I still have two classrooms and a path to mastery remaining. My next classroom session is all about web content - something I’ve been sinking my teeth into a lot recently so it should be really interesting to gain some new insight into this and learn some new ways to improve my web content skills.
What's Next
Next month is full of webinars as I take on presenting a blogging webinar with the digital marketing team. We also have a few Digital Advantage workshops coming up which I am really excited about as we have some fun activities lined up for them. We still have spaces on our webinars and in-person workshops, so do drop us an email if you’re interested in coming along!
I’m looking forward to a few client meetings too as it's been lovely to get back to seeing people in person and catching up with them. I’ll also be cracking on with my final apprenticeship learning and tasks and look forward to chipping away at my portfolio.
Finally, the next time I check in with you all I will have officially graduated from University! Only a couple of years late due to the pandemic but I am finally going to be able to don my cap and gown and collect my journalism degree certificate in person. 🎉🎓
